Dr Anju Agarwal (she/her)
I am a highly experienced gynaecologist, fertility specialist and public obstetrician with advanced skills in laparoscopic and gynaecological surgeries. I also work with Monash IVF to provide complete fertility care, including IVF procedures. I have a special interest in managing abnormal cervical screening test results and have additional accreditation to perform colposcopies. I believe in using the most advanced, evidence based and least invasive treatment options available when managing my patients.
I have been working as an obstetrician and gynaecologist (O&G) for almost 15 years, both overseas and in Australia. I am admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and have a Masters Degree in Reproductive Medicine from the University of New South Wales.
I commenced my O&G training in Nepal in 2000 and moved to Adelaide in 2007, where I worked as a registrar at the WCH Tertiary Hospital. Most of my training involved the management of high-risk pregnancies; in Australia I was now preventing complications, rather than just treating them as I was in Nepal!
I am passionate about education and regularly teach and mentor students and trainee O&G's. I frequently present on panels for information webinars and enjoy attending conferences and workshops. I am an active member of the Australasian Gynaecological & Endoscopic Society (AGES) and the Australian Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology where I participate in the CQUIP - the colposcopy quality and certification program in Australia.
I consult from my private rooms in Bendigo and predominantly perform surgeries at St John of God Hospital and Bendigo Day Surgery (BDS). I am associated with Monash IVF and perform IVF procedures from BDS and the Epworth Hospital, Hawthorn. I also hold public appointments at Bendigo Health and Castlemaine Health.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, travel, and just unwind. I also enjoy interacting and posting useful well researched content on my social media pages.
